Jewelry Education
Jewelry Education
Understanding what you wear is as important as wearing it.
At DivinityChest, knowledge is foundational.
Clarity precedes selection. Documentation precedes value. Integrity precedes brilliance.
We believe fine jewelry should be:
• Authentically graded
• Transparently represented
• Structurally sound
• Intentionally crafted
Our collections include:
• Natural (earth-mined) diamonds (Coming Soon)
• Lab-grown diamonds
• Moissanite
• Colored gemstones
Each category serves a distinct purpose — yet all must meet our internal standard of precision, certification, and structural integrity.
This page presents a structured overview of gemstone origins, quality tiers, and recognized grading authorities — ensuring every selection is informed, intentional, and aligned with your expectations.
Integrity defines the DivinityChest Standard.
Understanding Gemstone Origins
Fine jewelry begins with origin.
The source of a gemstone influences its rarity, formation process, market value, and long-term perception. Below is a structured overview of the primary gemstone categories within our collections.
Natural (Earth-Mined) Diamonds
Formed over billions of years beneath the Earth’s surface, natural diamonds are valued for geological rarity and enduring market recognition.
Quality Spectrum
All diamonds are graded using the internationally recognized 4Cs:
Cut – Precision of light performance
Color – Absence of yellow or brown tones
Clarity – Internal and surface inclusions
Carat – Weight
Entry-Level Quality
• Noticeable inclusions
• Warmer color grades (J–M)
• Inconsistent light performance
Mid-Range Quality
• Eye-clean clarity
• Near colorless (G–I)
• Balanced proportions
Exceptional Quality
• Ideal or Excellent cut
• D–F color
• VVS clarity or higher
• Strong brilliance and symmetry
Natural diamonds are commonly certified by GIA.
Lab-Grown Diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds created using advanced technological processes that replicate natural formation conditions.
They share identical chemical and optical properties with natural diamonds.
Quality Spectrum
The same 4Cs grading system applies.
Lower Commercial Grade
• Poor cut symmetry
• Brown or gray undertones
• Lower clarity
Standard Commercial Grade
• Good to Very Good cut
• G–I color
• VS–SI clarity
High-Grade Lab Diamonds
• Ideal cut
• D–F color
• VVS clarity
• Strong light return
Lab-grown diamonds are commonly certified by IGI and GIA.
Moissanite
Moissanite is a distinct gemstone, not a diamond.
It is known for:
• High refractive index (enhanced rainbow dispersion)
• Strong durability
• Accessible price positioning
Quality Spectrum
Lower Quality
• Visible haziness
• Green or yellow undertones
• Poor calibration
Standard Commercial Grade
• Bright appearance
• Noticeable dispersion
• Acceptable clarity
Premium Moissanite
• Near colorless
• Excellent cut precision
• Minimal undertones
• Balanced brilliance
Moissanite is commonly accompanied by GRA grading documentation.
Colored Gemstones
Colored gemstones are evaluated differently from diamonds.
Primary value indicators include:
• Saturation (intensity of color)
• Tone (light vs. dark balance)
• Clarity
• Cut precision
Lower Quality
• Weak or uneven color
• Prominent fractures
• Poor symmetry
Commercial Grade
• Good color presence
• Minor inclusions
• Standard cut
Exceptional Grade
• Vivid, saturated color
• Minimal visible inclusions
• Precision cut
Colored gemstone are graded by GRC (e.g., sapphire, emerald, ruby).
Certification & Grading Authorities
Independent certification verifies authenticity and grading transparency at the time of evaluation.
GIA (Gemological Institute of America)
Widely regarded as the most stringent authority for natural diamonds.
IGI (International Gemological Institute)
Commonly used for lab-grown diamonds and internationally recognized grading.
GRA / GRC
Primarily associated with moissanite grading and gemstone evaluation.
Certification documents confirm measurable characteristics — not future performance.
Choosing With Clarity
Each gemstone category reflects a different intention:
Natural Diamond — geological rarity
Lab Diamond — modern technological precision
Moissanite — high brilliance alternative
Colored Gems — expressive individuality
Understanding distinctions allows for confident selection.
